Wyoming Telehealth/Telemedicine Conference 

A statewide telehealth/telemedicine conference was held on August 20th.  An estimated 80 people attended the conference, connecting from 20 interactive sites around the state as well additional non-interactive locations. The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center provided the telecommunications bridge and technical support, and additional sponsors included

·        Wyoming Department of Health

·        University of Wyoming, Center for Rural Health Research and Education

·        Wyoming Medical Center

·        Wyoming Hospital Association

·        Wyoming Health Information Organization

The Conference covered the following topics:

·        An update on telehealth/telemedicine activities in Wyoming, the region, and nationally

·        Assessing telehealth/telemedicine needs and priorities in WY

·        Obstacles to adopting telehealth/telemedicine

·        Statewide telehealth/telemedicine network – value, services, funding and sustainability

·        Identifying short and long term goals

·        Determining next steps
